International Festival Review is back!

ON AIR: the Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Present Arts has been working since the summer with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, one of the finest classical groups in the world, on the production of its new podcasts, presented by Simon Mundy. Please click here to listen. A new episode featuring the orchestra’s players and conductors will come online every couple of weeks or so.

OUT NOW: Moving Culture Away From Nations

Simon Mundy’s new book is published by Radix. Culture – The Enemy Of Progress? argues that the way national governments appropriate culture to their cause is corrosive to our politics and stifles the arts.

The book argues for history to be taught more accurately and for artists to keep on asking hard questions, however uncomfortable they make those in power.

PRESENT ARTS develops arts projects in literature, visual arts and music, working with a variety of partners, festivals and spaces. In 2016 we presented a major retrospective exhibition of the abstract paintings of June Hainault (1924 – 2007) at Mall Galleries in London.

In 2017-18 we worked on the celebrations for the centenary of Sir Sidney Nolan, in co-operation with the Sidney Nolan Trust.

Since 2018 we have been working on the Europe for Festivals – Festivals for Europe project in partnership with the European Festivals Association. See www.festivalfinder.eu

PRESENT ARTS ON CD is a review service for classical discs by a professional critic. Several companies have been complaining that serious coverage is becoming harder to get as newspapers cut the space for classical music and websites turn to amateur reviewers.

PAOCD will select and review discs but not downloads. If you would like a CD covered please drop us a line at info@presentarts.co.uk
Present Arts Ltd. is the parent company of HAY PRESS. For news of its publications CLICK HERE
